520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The Large Glass, as this work is familiarly known, occupied Duchamp intermittently for eight years, from 1915 to 1923. This book discusses it first in historical context, of Cubism and Futurism and later of Dada and Surrealism. Then it is discussed in the light of more contemporary literature, especially of Alfred Jarry and Raymond Roussel, and analyses its imagery and other possible meanings and connections. |
